People, Society, and Digitalisation

Research and innovation on digitalisation in welfare, mental healthcare, and social work

Our research group explores how digitalisation can strengthen well-being, care, and social work. We help social professionals and organisations to adopt a people-centred and well-considered approach in the use of digitalisation. We work on diverse themes, from online support services and digital inclusion to AI in well-being and mental healthcare.

Digitale inclusie

The digital reality of well-being and mental healthcare is challenging

... but it does not have to be complicated.

Social professionals and organisations are facing major challenges: increasing digital expectations, diverse target groups, ethical considerations, new technologies such as AI, and the need to remain accessible and close to people.

People, society, and digitalisation can help you make conscious choices.
Underpinned by research, grounded in practice.

Quality framework for digital care, assistance and support

How can you safeguard quality, humanity, and inclusion in digital healthcare and support?

At the request of the Department of Healthcare, and in collaboration with Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, we developed a quality framework for the use of digital technology in care and support services for Steunpunt Welzijn, Gezondheid en Gezin.

The quality framework helps organisations to:

  • make conscious choices in digital applications
  • structurally embed quality and ethics
  • sustainably develop digital care and support

Organisations can get started with:

  • the quality framework
  • a practical assessment tool for their quality policy
